Would you believe George Bush? Al Gore lives in an environmentally energy hog. (I guess he can afford it with all he's making off of his Global Warming Scam). Check it out on Snopes.

Sageandscholar: If you are buying into the "carbon offsets", then that is all one needs to know. That is the second biggest scam about this whole thing. The whole idea that one can live as environmentally unfriendly as they want, as long as they purchase "carbon offsets", is proof that the man-made global warming thing is a hoax. Secondly, carbon dioxide is not a polutant!

The point that you fail to grasp is that what I said was true. Snopes.com is very reliable source.

Steve J USA: If you did your homework, you would know that Bush has done the most of any Administration to make the White House energy efficient. It's not widely spread by the media because he's a Republican.

The "carbon credit" scam has been proven to be completely flawed and inundated with greed and charlatans. Gore's carbon footprint is HUGE. ABSOLUTELY HUGE! EMBARRASSINGLY OBNOXIOUSLY HUGE!

However, since he supports junk science and a fake environmental cause, it has no meaning.

The economy would be suffering in a huge way if gore had won. It isn't rocket science to figure out that incentivizing people to work hard by not taking away the majority of the potential rewards will get people motivated to increase productivity. That fact was lost on gore. OK, that was somewhat speculative b/c it is the courage and strength of the American people that truly drive the economy, not the President. But one thing that is for sure is that we definitely would have had another major terrorist attack on our soil with that pompous windbag in charge. Say what you want about Bush, but people have learned quickly not to mess with him (or us, thank you very much) or they'll get kicked in the teeth; just ask the Taliban.

Sage: Gore buys all of his carbon offsets from a company that he started and profits from. Tell us just exactly how many trees he's planted for his trip to receive his Nobel Prize. It's a joke. After all, farmers plant more things that use carbon monoxide and dioxide and convert it to oxygen. Stop and think about it. The farmer plants for example 80 acres of corn. He plants between 17,000 and 40,000 seeds per acre of which an average of 85% will germinate and make it to maturity. Average the plant population (28,500 x 85%=24,225 plants per acre). That's 1,938,000 plants that generate oxygen in that 80 acres. Multiply that by 1,000,000 acres and you still won't be close to the amount of corn that is raised in the U.S. and that doesn't count all the other crops that are planted including trees.
Buying carbon offset credits doesn't impress me. If he really believes what he is preaching, he should lead by example.
BTW how does buying carbon offsets make you "carbon footprint" neutral? How does that "clean" the carbon that he puts into the atmosphere?

Addition:
So you're saying that anyone can spew as much polution into the atmoshpere as they want as long as they can afford to by "carbon credits".

Madd Texan, growing corn requires nitrogen fertilizers, which leads to nitrogen dioxide production. Do some research on that as a green house gas!

As far as which one lives which way, what argument are you people going to have once Al Gore completes greening up his home as he asks all Americans to do?
Doesn't seem like that much of a hypocrite, when he is doing it himself.

Bush

Gore supposedly offsets his lifestyle by purchasing so called Carbon Offsets. Beyond the fact that he OWNS the company that sells this non product carbon offsets are a complete scam.

They remind me of papal indulgences from the Catholic Church. You could continue to sin if you paid enough money.

It is not the fact that Al Gore is a complete con artist that surprises me, it is that there are so many people willing to buy off on his crap that gets me.

Old news - also incomplete.
Gore offsets ALL of his energy use so his carbon footprint is zero.
Get with the program.

Stop Ranting - please provide any of this proof.
Gore is being 100% consistent. He asks others to minimize thier carbon footprint and then leads by example.
Pretending you are too obtuse to understand this is hardly an effective argument. MaddTexan thank you for demonstrating my point. Buying something from yourself is not wrong. Why is it ok to profit from screwing up the world but not from fixing it? It does not change the impact of the product you are buying. And planting is just one of many ways to offset carbon output. Paying extra for electricity such that providers take extra electricity from non carbon sources is common and indeed the way Gore offsets his electricity bill. Instead of criticizing why not actually learn (since you have admitted you do not understand how it works).

If the Whitehouse's completely egregious overabundance of facilities, amenities, and vehicles ran in an environmentally-friendly way, wouldn't the citizens know about that?
I apologize for destroying your argument...

What scares me here is that some people really still believe Gore. Thankfully, most are aware.
