The first answer is correct.

A fireplace would put out the same amount of heat. But, one in the corner would appear warmer, in front. It is in a corner. There is really only one direction for the warm air to travel.

Whether you fireplace is in the corner or on a straight wall, it puts out about the same amount of heat. I would depend on the size of the room it is located in also. The smaller the room the more heat and vice versa.

I would think that the heat is absorbed a little in the corner. I would guess it puts out the same heat but some is deflected and absorbed into the walls
