clear liquids at first. then try some crackers, jello, toast, chicken noodle soup. and then if that stays down, slowly start eating a more regular diet. Avoid spicey/ greasy foods. Also try eating several small meals a day instead of three large meals. If that doesn't work, and you still can't keep anything down, call your physician.

try soda crackers and gelatin. put a can or pack of soda crackers or gelatin. by your bedside and eat that before you get out of bed in the morning. you can take it separately by the way. it worked for me. however if your vomiting is so severe then you might be suffering from what is called hyperemesis gravidarum in which doctors usually prescribe a medication for that. stay away from over the counter drugs because the first trimester of pregnancy is critical for your baby. that's the time when his or her organs are forming and developing and are highly sensitive to tocolytic drugs.

Try eating saltines before you get out of bed. Bland foods are usually a good bet. Try taking ginger capsules or drinking ginger ale, that really helped me. I lost 25 pounds in my first trimester before I found the ginger capsules.

There really is no way of telling. Some foods settle well with people's stomachs, and others have problems with them. I'd stay away from anything too spicy or with lots of salt. Try saltines and toast.

Dry cereal was always a sure bet for me...also, anything cold (i.e., raw veggies instead of cooked, fruit, etc). I had to steer clear of cooked meat, casserole-type dishes, cooked veggies and warm drinks for about four months. But everyone's different. Hopefully you'll find some things that work for you to get you through the first half. If you really can't keep anything down, make sure to let your doctor know. Also, my nurse told me to keep my drinks and solids separate. Didn't really work for me, but I'm sure it can't hurt!
