Art is defined as the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance. I personally would define art as an expression of life.

As an Art Education and Studio Art major, I'm often asked why it is important for others to learn about art. I'm still looking for the best answer myself.

However art, to me is everything. Without it I would be very poor and probably incarcerated by now.

art is a challenge. It's what I strive for. It's the fight to create something better then what I've done before. To learn more, to better my understanding.
It's frustration. Wanting to do better then I can, not having enough time to study more, Wanting to be able to learn faster, learn more. Pushing for better line, better form, better movement.
It's also frustrating seeing all the garbage that is passed off as art, People who don't strive, don't study, don't learn. People who think because they make art that they're an artist.
Art can't be truly be defined, It's the moments that you fight for, you study and practice and fight and suddenly you cross a street and it just makes sense. In that moment you create your best work to date, it's the best high in the world, and once it's over you fight for another moment like it.

i don't think so, everybody has their own personal opinion about what art is! My mother considers my scribbles from when i was a kid art, she's framed them around the house. most people would look at my scribbles and see, well scribbles. it might not be art to them.

i don't know what you mean by "real artist" i think everybody is an artist, everybody is able to create!

art is a means whereby emotion is expressed.
it cannot be given justice through a simple definition however, as art means different things to each individual who experiences it. as well, the power art has on each of us is too great to describe; art seems to be a force unto itself sometimes, flowing intangibly between each of us like a connection of feelings and thoughts further developing methods of relation that we can share.
to me, art is all the emotion evoked by a single note in a song. it is the detailed stroke of the brush which completes the picture that no one notices but the artist themself. it is the way light bounces when the shutter clicks, and the flow of the ink across paper.
art is beauty, and art is life.

Art is something that touches you both emotionally and spiritually. I cannot be define, it's just about expressing your feelings and doing what you love to do. It also showing other people the true you.

wow...i can go sooo deep into that question, art...tis every thing, its all around you. Art is something that u feel in the heart, and in the soul.
Art makes me happy inside, it brings life to this world. I think art and music is everything. I see every thing as a photo, cause i'm a photographer, and life is just a big picture to me. And for my bf, he's an artist
and he sees every thing like a painting. Art is differnt for everyone, it all depends on how u see life. Art and music is all around you, all u got to do is look, and listen!
Also, when i play my piano, or my bass, or drumbs, or guitar, i dont just play with my hands, and fingers, i play with all my heart, mind and soul!
And one last thing, art comes from your emotions, and from your spirt, it is a way for expressing how you feel, and how u see life

I think that when you like art, you are essentially saying you would like the soul and inner person of the artist. as it is a mirror of their feelings and soul.

If it inspires me to do something, it is art.
