I will have laminate flooring installed in my house this weekend and I am required to disconnect and reconnect my gas stove. The installers will not do that part for me. Is there anything I should know or have to prepare properly for removal and re installation?
-thanks

You will need a wrench to twist the shut off valve on the gas line at a right angle to where it is now (ends up crosswise to way the pipe is heading). That will shut off the gas. Next take a wrench that fits on the flexible pipe section going to the stove and turn it counter clockwise to take it off that valve. You are now safely disconnected. Reattachment is the opposite sequence. If you find a Teflon tape sealant on the gas valve to flex fitting.then take it off and bring a piece of it to the hardware store to get a replacement and to hear how to wrap it around the threads (go clockwise). Don't forget that step in reconnecting.

YES!
First and foremost turn the gas off to your oven. There should be a shut-off valve either behind it or underneath it if you have a basement. Once the valve is off you cant go too far wrong. Just use common sense and reverse your process when re-installing. If your gas line is replaceable, you may want to think about doing that also.

pulling on the corners of your stove walk the stove out a bit, Slip pieces of cardboard under the legs, helps reduce marking the floor and helps the ease of sliding the stove. When you have it out a bit reach into the back and unplug the electric and turn the gas valve 90 degrees. Use a wrench and remove the flex line from the valve and continue to slide out the oven. I recommend you replace the flex line when you reinstall.
