Yes, I know who OJ is.
He was a fantastic football player years ago.
Yes, I've heard of his murder trial.
He was accused of murdering his ex-wife and her boyfriend.
He was found not guilty.
I think he was guilty but the prosecutors did not present enough evidence to eliminate doubt in the jury's mind.
No, I don't think it was a fair trial because it was televised and became a daily soap opera for the media and the viewers. I also think the DA was not prepared enough for a conviction. They did not present enough factual evidence.
Since he was found not guilty to the murder charge he obviously should not be in jail. However, if the trial have been adequately prosecuted the verdict would have been guilty and he'd be in jail.
The only other crimes that I have heard of is that he's committed few assaults and been charged but that were dropped and then recently his alleged involvement with a robbery in Las Vegas.
To my knowledge he has been indicted in the Las Vegas robbery and will stand trial.
If I were the judge, the first thing I would do is ban any and all cameras from the courtroom. Then I would let the prosecution and the defense attorneys present their cases. I'm sure it will be a jury trial. I would then instruct the jury to base their verdict solely on the evidence of the case.

O.J. Simpson was a fantastic football player who became a mediocre actor (his most "memorable" roles being in those Leslie Nielsen Naked Gun movies).
O.J. was tried for and acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife and an unfortunate restaurant employee who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He was subsequently sued by the family of the murdered man and a civil judgment was found against O.J. (he is not allowed to profit from the case and was supposed to pay the man's family a lot of money).
The "law" says that an accused person is innocent until proven guilty with the burden of proof on the prosecution.
That said, I personally, think O.J. did it. This year he wrote and tried to publish a book (which was taken away from him as part of the aforementioned civil suit) which was based on the possibility that he HAD committed these crimes.
I know that there was a lot of grandstanding at the original murder trial. I am not sure whether or not the trial was "fair".
O.J.'s latest "run in" with the law involves an armed robbery attempt in Las Vegas.
If I were a judge, I'd probably excuse myself from this case. No! I'd insist that O.J. be bound over for psychiatric evaluation and counseling.
With all the previous publicity and the media watching his every move, he would have to be crazy to pull the armed (armed! for heaven's sake!) robbery stunt in Vegas.
I really feel sorry for his children. They lost their mother and I don't think their father is all there either!

It's a 9 year minimum. That means he will not get interviewed by a parole board until late 2017. If he serves the entire sentence then he will be released in late 2041. He would be 94 years old then. I doubt O.J. will keep his nose clean enough to get paroled the first time around. That is usually reserved for model inmates. O.J. will hang with a gang since he has always been known to have an entourage of pople around him at all times. O.J. is a power freak who loves being the center of attention and cannot ever admit he was wrong. I doubt O.J. will be paroled before 2020.
