If you're going to be making/editing movies, I'd recommend the Mac, since Final Cut Studio and Final Cut Express only run on Mac, and they're the best programs for movie editing.

either would do fine.
Its more on personal taste..
if you think you play games Vista is the way to go. Until game makers make more games for the MAC your game choice is very limited.
I do no know what is the choice you have with that vista machine but a MAC mini will not be powerful enough to play any modern games back graphic card....
Also think about your budget. You usually get less for the money with a MAC and more on the phyical look and style of a MAC. HP also gives you some room for upgrade later while MAC mini you will not able to do much.
Beside the gaming you might have issue, Mac or Vista are fine IMHO
Find a store and check them out youself
Good luck

No, it is not. enable's see why. Processor: HP: 2.8Ghz Quad center; Mac: 2.66Ghz center 2 Duo. somebody might are available earlier or after me and say omgz quadcore is tha superb evarrrr. no longer so. very almost no courses make the main of the 4 cores. inspite of the undeniable fact that, the processing speed is bigger, and that's whats substantial. HP wins right here. RAM: HP: 2x2G DDR3, can improve to 16G complete; Mac: 2x1G DDR3, can improve to 8G. much less RAM. HP wins returned, to no longer point out you will might desire to pay Apple to enhance your RAM in case you ever wanted to. Video: HP: Intergrated ATI Radeon HD 4200; Mac: NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256MB Video RAM. Apple wins right here, yet you do no longer choose a ideas-blowing video card to look at photos. in case you play pc video games, this might element in, yet with the Mac Mini lacking the RAM and processing capability, you will nevertheless have issues. complicated force: HP: 750G, Apple: the two 320G or 500G ideas. the two way, nevertheless smaller. in case you like photos and different issues that soak up countless area, you are going to prefer to bypass with HP. Audio: Apple didnt furnish countless information approximately audio applications on the Mac Mini, yet HP has HD Audio help, so in case you're diggin track... returned, HP. the two desktops have a similar prompt capacity, and with decrease end desktops like this, many of the different info can't make a difference to somebody who makes use of a working laptop or pc casually. Soooo yeah. you pays $two hundred extra for some thing slightly prettier and much less area-taking, yet completely much less useful, yet you get to possess some thing by way of Apple! Hooraaaaay. college teenagers everywhere will envy you. bypass with the laptop.

Mac mini although its not expandable - the 20" iMac would be a better choice - you can run Windows on it too if you need to.
