I am curious if you are sad spending it alone.

MANY, MANY Years ... I have spent the Holidays ALONE ...

As a Long Term Single ... who (with her siblings) buried her parents as a very young adult) ... And who was on Active Duty with the US Military ....

As the Survivor of a Short Disaster of a Marriage ... who was FORCED to send HER toddlers to the Abusive, violent Ex ...

As someone on Active Duty (who had Duty on Christmas Day) ...

As someone who became an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... (and who dealt with the horror of finding out that my adult child WILLINGLY Helped that Ex Burglarize my HOME yet again in August 2006) ...

Did I feel sad? Sometimes ... for I KNEW That being alone .. single ... I was DEFINITELY the one FORGOTTEN by others ... (the only thing the ex wanted was $ and Property ... the Kids .. well being kids, they want presents .. and FORGET about MOMMA for sure) ...

But ... I realized this -- it is NOT the things that make me happy .. it is the HAPPINESS I had WITHIN .. and for myself -- to know even though I was ALONE .. I wasn't going to let that FACT 'make' me sad ... I was GOING to enjoy myself by Watching all the Christmas Movies .. Sitting down, trying to sleep in .. just putting out MY Christmas Lights on the House always let me be HAPPY INDEED ... for I share my HAPPINESS (and Blessings) with the outward Visible signs of even such a simple thing as Christmas Light Displays!

Yes I am. It's an exaggerated extension of my everyday loneliness.
