my son has been eating cereal since like 3 months. its b/c he was inhaling formula at a rate of 8 oz bottles every 3 hours. over feeding? no he is just a long baby. he is 23 lbs but close to 30 inches long. nothing but a happy healthy little guy so dont worry when ppl go on and on about how you shouldnt feed until x amount of age. they do not know your baby or situation.
he is 5 months and he will not eat any but a bottle. the reason i think is b/c he is teething.
it could be your girl's problem. feel around on her gums if she hasnt cut any yet. maybe they are hurting and possibly they are getting ready to come through.
if you want her to still have cereal, add 2 tbsp to a 8 oz bottle. also make sure your let your dr know at the next visit about eating habits.
good luck!

Why not porkchops? Mine was eating that at six months (jk, lol) I started my boy on cereal pretty close to three months (actually, his first bite of solid food was yams from thanksgiving, shhh, don't tell his dad. lol) Some kids just don't want to try new things. How thick is it, mine liked his pretty thick. So if it's still runny, try thickening it up a bit. If it is thick, try thinning it up a bit. It may very well be a texture thing. Also, are you mixing it with breastmilk? That may make all the difference. She'll do just fine. Keep her doctor informed and good luck.

At 6 months, breast milk alone is a perfectly fine diet. In fact, for the entire first year the majority of a baby's nutrition should come from milk. Solids are just for practice. Nurse her as much as she wants. If she doesn't want to eat solids at the moment, there's no need to push her. Wait until she's reaching for your food, then offer her a bit of something.

When my husband and I started giving our boys baby cereal we would buy other baby food like the fruit and some veggies and would mix a little in with their cereal. We still gave them formula. And a little table food every now and then like mashed potatoes, apple sauce, etc. I hope that you aren't giving her pork chops and chicken or something like that. Because I know that she doesn't have teeth. And you don't want her to choke. Your baby will eat more as she gets older and more you introduce new foods (baby food) to her.

Try some jarred stage 1 baby food (very pureed food) like sweet potatoes and carrots; she may like those more. Don't give her fruit first since she may not develop a taste for veggies then. GIve her time to adjust to the new tastes and be patient..she is still learning how to eat.

Try something different, a veggie or a fruit, stage one foods, maybe she isn't crazy about the cereal. Carrots, Sweet potaoes, Applesauce, Pears, Green beans, Peas are all great first foods.

What is she doing when you try to feed her solids?
Pushing it out? If so, babies still are learning to swallow with their tongues, so a lot will come out.
Is it too thick, thin is out with some breast milk.
Doesn't like the taste? Try a different food and come back to the other in a couple weeks.
Cries? If so, just wait a few weeks. It won't hurt.
