Check the spark plugs. on plug not firing is the most likely culprit.

If one of them is not firing you will have 3/4 power. It feels like a lot larger loss when it happens to you.
Pull out all 4 plugs after it has been running. If one is not firing it will likely be wet. Or you can disconnect each plug wire one at a time while it is running. If the idle speed drops noticeably on all 4 then all 4 are firing. if it drops on 3 but not on the 4th one then you know which one it is.

If it is a spark plug then you just have to figure out why. Bad plug, bad plug wire, bad distributor.

in case you have an ignition or different misfire of a few of your cylinders, you won't sense it, yet your "knock sensor" will and it then retards your timing and you lose potential, extraordinarily on hills while the spark plugs are toughest to fireside below heavy engine load. So make beneficial your spark plug wires are not leaking set off the wires to floor by ability of parking the truck in a real dark spot so as which you will look on the engine on a similar time as you punch the accelerator and notice if there is any seen sparks leaping around the plug wires. if so, examine the continuity of each twine and you ought to use plastic "twine loom" to place around the plug twine the place the spark is leaking off. If the plug wires have by no ability been replaced, replace with a stable set of wires.

Check the engine trouble codes, that should give you a better idea of what to look for before you just start throwing parts at it. All you need is a small piece of wire or a paper clip. Details here:

If you haven't done it in a while, adjust your valves. If they go out of adjustment you will notice a difference.

a general loss of power is usually fuel pressure/volume related, ignition timing or exhaust restriction
