maybe, maybe not. One method of increasing pumping efficiencies are creating less restrictive inlet and outlet flow. Some cars have pretty restrictive intakes, and some are not restrictive up until a certain power level.

But basically you make more power with an intake by making the air cooler and increasing flow velocity by creating a smoother path and resonance. More air, and more fuel equals more power

For every 10degree drop farenheit you gain approximately 1% power. General rule of thumb, but varies.

On some cars it does, on some, such as Audi's, it can be detrimental. The reason it would not increase your HP would be your car computer though, which you could reset with the proper equipment. The bigger and colder the intake the better, because when cold air is heated, it expands, so if you get cold air in your combustion chamber, and ignite the gas, the air will expand more for a larger explosion, whereas hotter air will not be able to expand as much because it is already a little expanded. The bigger the intake the more air you can take in as well. However, these performance air intakes such as Volant and K&N do let a little more dirt into your combustion chamber as well. The only real filter element in the case of a K&N is the greasey stuff that it is soaked in, so the dirt gets more stuck to the filter rater than in it. If you are not in a real dusty area, this should not be a problem.

I'm guessing you me en a cold air intake. Not by itself. You have to think of an engine as an air pump. The more air and fuel you can pump in and pump out, the more power you can make. I would start with a cat-back system for the exhaust with a cold air intake. That will free up your engine some and give some extra power, but I would expect alot though.

Bigger air intake always wins, whether its carbs or injection.
"There is a lot of other crap that goes into play", but basically fuel burns hotter with more oxygen, bigger intake more oxygen.

A Turbo and a Supercharger are just motors that force more air into the piston chamber. The answer is air. You can add a supercharger to any of the cars some of these guys said "no" to and increase the horse power by 30-50%, and all your adding is air to the intake.

It depends on what kind of car you have. Sometimes the stock intake works better then an after market one. Since engines are completely computer controlled, the computer is only going to adjust to the increased air, which sometimes is not a good thing. But like i said it depends on what kind of car you have.

yes but not much, i hear K&N is a good brand, but i personally like AEM.
Cold Air Intake is better than a Short Ram
but if you live in a place that snows a lot, or rains a lot, i'd go with a short ram

cold air is better. If you help your car breath by opening up the exhaust(larger pipe) and allowing more air intake(K&N filter and cold air induction kit) your car will be faster.

Just a little, depends on what kind. injen is the best, you will gain maybe 2hp-20hp depends on the engine that you have..
