Do you admire your older siblings?

When I was a teenager, I would always have fights with my older sister (who is 3 years older) and older brother (who is 8 years older then me.) We fought about everything I was always so mad at them because they were so over protective of me. But now I get along with my sister like a friend and I admire my big bro, he is like the best person I know.

Icky family moment here. Care to share your stories?=)

little sis here of 4

I never was really close to any of my sisters until I was 12 and was forced to share a room with my older sister who is almost 6 years older than me, she thought I was just annoying before that and after that we became best friends. Things changed from my parents yelling at my other older sis (by 3 yrs) and I to stop fighting of they would come in the room to my parents yelling at my best friend sis and I to stop laughing or they would come in there...

I guess for me, as we all get older and have more life experience and all be there for eachother, the closer we get. We will always be close, me, 24 married 4 yrs no kids, my sister who is 27 never married and been through tough times with relationships, sister best friend who is 29 one child and two on the way and been through a lot in life, eldest sister 32 three kids and just left hubby temporarily... I guess we all will always need eachother, and we are all very close right now. Everytime something good or bad happens, we get closer. I hope it's the same for you :)

No and no. I am # 5 out of 10. I am close with my sister just younger than me the most. We are the outcasts of the family, but in a good way. The only older sibling I look up to is my oldest brother because he lives his life right.

Yes I'm the youngest, but my sister is only 1 year older than me and my other sister is 3 years older than me. So not that big of a difference in age, but I agree with you in terms of admiring them.

I'm #5 of 6 so I'm not the youngest BUT I am the youngest girl .. AND there was a 6 yr gap in between # 3 and # 4 and then a 5 yr gap in between #4 and me so it turned out that it's like 2 separate sets of 3 bcuz the first 3 are all married w/ kids & the last of us r jus coming up into adulthood.
The 1st three are all girls so yes I look up to my sister and I love them and learn from their mistakes but they made me an aunt at 5 and I take care of those kids like they're my own and when I actually was 5, I hated that they were married bcuz it was like my sisters were taken away. Anyway, as I got older, we had lots of issues bcuz they wanted to still baby me and treat me like I was their daughter but I was trying to grow up and become an individual and felt like they had no right to try to be mothrs to me bcuz I was like a mother to their kids. Anyway, I try to talk to them now and things are good and get better everyday. So, that's how I relate to my first set of siblings.
My set, the second set, consists of my only two brothers, so when I was growing up, I shared a room w/ a sister for many years but my time was mostly spent w/ my brothers, and we had lots of good times as kids, building a megazord(power rangers) and stuff but then at the end of the day, they're boys and I'm a girl and we're all gonna hate each other altho we love each other. Lots of crazy interesting dynamics in my house, needless to say. It was most interesting when there were three teenagers in the house w/ us L0l My parents went thru that TWICE once in '92 and again in '03 :-> God bless their dear hearts lol speaking of which, the fact that I'm the last girl has always been a problem bcuz my siblings get mad that my dad treats me differently like they say I'm daddy's little girl and can do no wrong and it makes me not get any respect whatsoever around these parts; like my dad even talks down bcuz he says I'm not doing what he thinks I should be doing. It's hard telling your dad you're not his "little girl" and of course nobody really says it but the way things happen it's making him realize it. I gotta live my life and that's what I've been doing.

i am the youngest of two children. my brother is four years older than me, and for the most part, we get along great (we always have - and i'm still a teen). i love him and i admire him, and i have a small complex where i feel the need to live up to/ be better than him. however, there was a time when my brother's actions (which i felt and still sort of feel) were selfish that caused a crisis in not only his life, but the whole family's that i lost respect and admiration for him. it took awhile for him to start earning my respect back, and i don't think he will ever earn it all back.

I was the youngest.... Then when I was 9 My mum got remarried and I have a Step-brother. I like being the middle child better.
I am now 39, My older sister & I still don't get along (I wish I was as Perfect as she is. cough...cough!).
My brother and I get on just fine. We try to help each other out if we can.

Yes, Oh yes! I have a brother that is 9 1/2 years older than I, and he used to pluck every never I had! But same here he was just being protective. He has definitely helped me grow up to be successful though.

I'll tell you, eighteen now, and STILL having fights with my older sisters. Being the youngest in the family AND having 3 older sisters can be tough, especially if your a boy. But most of the time, I really enjoy having them around. I don't regularly tell them this, but I love them with all my heart.
