Actually, with the many additions to the Brewers bullpen, they now have a surplus. They also are anxious to move Ryan Braun from 3B to the outfield due to his defensive liability at 3rd. Inge would be a great fit at the hot corner for Milwaukee and in return, Detroit could use one of the Brewers relievers. This trade could help both clubs!

I am not sure that the Tigers want to get what bullpen help that is out there for Inge, he is a fabulous fielding 3B and would caommand a little more than a mid range reliever, no team would ever give up a top notch reliever for a defensive 3B. I would love to see him on any team that I root for; I am sad that he will leave Detroit but lets face it, Cabrera is a special talent when his weight is right and a great hitter even witht he weight elevated. This has to be hard for the Tigers to give up a player that has been such a big part of their revival. I am sure the Phillies will give up some of what they have for him though...Gillick seems to enjoy giving away good pitching for what no other GM would.

I have a gut feeling, Inge is going nowhere, Marcus Thames may be traded instead, because if he can play a full season, he has 35-40 HR possibilities. I sincerely hope, for the sake of Inge, Cabrera will be sent out to LF, with Jacques Jones playing the utility role in the outfield.
And I also laugh at those who think Inge is a bad defender, reason why he gets errors, is because he gets to the balls nobody else can get to, most of his errors are throwing errors after great plays. I have seen him dive into stands to catch a ball, landing on his face, and saw him catch a ball in the same fashion Jeter did going into the stands, only he is not Jeter, so it is not as hyped! He is an A+ defender!

Detroit is caught between a rock and a hard spot. So is Inge. With a guaranteed salary of 19.1 mil for the next three years he will be hard to move. He has A+ defensive skills with great range but in my opinion only C- offensive skills. He hit .236 last year with but had a nice 71 RBI's. Problem is, he doesn't have good bat control with that big swing. To many SO's and not enough BB's. Anyway it would be nice to get a decent relief pitcher in a trade but that could be wishful thinking. Realistically, he should start thinking about how he can fit in as a super sub and work on his bat control. Improve in those categories and Dave Dembrowski could find him a new team by trade deadline and we may even get a good relief pitcher for him by then.

Yes, Brandon has said that he wants to play everyday at 3b and asked Dombrowski (in a nice way) if he could be traded.
Yous guys have it all wrong. I think The Tigers are looking to get a back-up 1stbaseman for Inge, and possibly a PTBNL.
But that remains to be seen.
I laugh at these morons who say that Inge is not a good defender...he is one of the best! And I am sad he is going. He deserves a WS ring more than any other Tiger right now.

I think they should keep the team as is. Cleveland used to do the same thing, get a great team that worked well together then turn around & trade on or two player & mess the whole thing up. Unfortunately the money is the bottom line for most of the team Owners. I am an Indians Fan, but like the Tigers too.

ok lets look at this...First inge is a great fielder, one of the best in baseball with his glove. He is very versatile and can play anywhere. If he is smart he will stay in detroit where he will appreciate winning a ring more, because a ring is comming to detroit this year. I do feel bad for him because he has stuck out the bad years but cabrera is just in another class. With adding denny bautista our bullpen will be decent untill Zumaya comes back. Keep inge for defense sub in late innnings and lets not forget how injury prone last years team was. he can be very valuable.

No team will trade solid pitching, which is what the Tigers need, for Inge.

there are many teams around major league baseball (national league in particular) that have paid a pretty penny for a non-productive defensive stud... such as the cardinals with david eckstien. keeping that in mind, inge's 20+ homeruns over the last couple seasons makes him more valuable than you think. package him with a middle to lower prospect (which despite popular belief we still have) and he could easily land a fairly talented back end reliever.
Inge already said he wants to stay in Detroit anyways
