I keep getting illegal operations for every program I run such as firefox, msn messenger,and so on....I have already ran virus scans to that wont help...Any Ideas?

Have you tried going to start in your tray, accessories, and system tool, and open system restore. Restore your system, to the dates shown that are availble for a system restore.
Or reboot, and as soon as the reboot, starts, keep clicking on key, "F8", and try going to the last good configuration. And hit enter.

Illegal operation errors are a sign that you are running Windows 95/98 or ME. Because it's most likely that ether Windows system files or the Registry are corrupted, you are looking at re-formatting and reinstalling Windows.
