When I order Pizza to be delivered I always ask the total price and let them know I have either the right money or will need change.

The person taking the order usually asks what sized note ( in your case $20) and they allow the change to come with the order.

I have even received the boxed pizza with an envelope attached holding the change.. I just had to sign to say I had received it.

So I'd suggest when you order the pizza, just say you are paying with a $20 note so they know you will need change.

Typically, deliver drivers carry $20 - $30 worth of change on them. In the event that you are going to be paying with a larger bill (i.e., $50 or $100), you should always make sure to mention that on the phone so that the driver can make sure he has enough change on him.

I don't know about most pizza places, but I know the one I worked at had a drop box system for the drivers. That way, if we were carrying around a LOT of cash, we could drop our excess into the box for the end of the night and not have to worry about being robbed.

I don't know if all pizza delievery guys will carry change, and sometimes it is not a good idea to risk it. And that 20 dollar Bill that you do have, might also not get you very far. I wouldn't think, that they will drive all the way back to the store, and then all the way back to your house with change, and very rarely have pizza have been delievered to my family's home. But maybe you should have a pizza delievered, or when you place your order, maybe you might want to ask if the driver will be carrying change.

Not all places charge, but I'm pretty sure Pizza Hut does. Just ask them and yes they carry change with them.
