It was both good and bad... RIvers has a future
They let brees go beasue the last game Brees injured his shoulder and had to have surgery and they thought he would not be himself...
But hey that was the past and watching Rivers play today the second half, he gave all he had, playing with an injured left knee and managed to pull a win... AMAZING

No not at all, because Drew Brees was already 28 and was going through injury problems. But Phillip Rivers is a good, young quarterback that has a career that is only looking up from where he is now. Plus they got him basically with first pick in the draft so whats the point in not using him. Another reason why it wasn't dumb was because Drew Brees was asking for a huge contract that he wasn't even worth, while at the same time Phillip Rivers is being paid just as much as he is worth, because he is doing fairly well. Also Brees is a "system quarter back" and he didn't fit in the chargers system(he looks good in NO though because its the right system for him), so to answer your question no it was not dumb for the chargers to keep Rivers and let Brees go.
I hope this helped to answer your question. :)

Yes, there has never been any evidence in any season at any time to show that Rivers is even on the same level as Drew Brees, let alone is even good at all. Furthermore, Drew Brees has an extremely high completion % while throwing for a lot of yards and TDs, and you just about never see Rivers throw for 300 yards and/or 3 TD in a game. Brees can do this, making him a marqui (however you spell it) qb. and that rhymes lol

No because Brees is meant to play in a different system than what they were playing in SD. NO is more of what he is use too from Purdue
