If it's non contested and nobody is fighting and pulling lawsuits out of their rear - which is what I hear from 80% of people I know who get divorced - this should only take about a year or so if your "partner" is cooperating with the process and not stalling or trying to stop it. If there are lawsuits going on and a partner who is not cooperating - it could drag on for 10 or more years battling it out. What a mess!

My divorce was like that. We filed in late May and it was final in late July. I waived my right to a hearing too because I didn't disagree with anything he wanted. We split everything very equally. It was quite a nice divorce....I know what a weird thing to say but it's true. I just wanted out of the marriage.

We signed paperwork with the lawyer in February, we couldn't get a court date until April, the final decree was 90 days later in July. MEANWHILE, I was in Germany as of March. I didn't even need to be there since we had agreed to everything in February with the lawyer. We didn't have anything either. This was in Tennessee.

Are you being a pathetic loser and are you a person who doesn't keep up with his commitments? What is so bad that happened and why are you wanting to do this? Just wanting a divorce is not a good reason to get a divorce. Unless this is something unforgivable then you need to pull your head out of your hind side, talk honorably and respectfully to your wife, and get some marriage counseling. Don't be a fool. You loved her enough to marry her... for better or for worse.

Depends on if the other party contests it. If they agree to divorce and just sign the papers then it could take less than 6 months.... if they fight it, wayyy longer.
