So, me and my family were going to a restaurant for dinner tonight. We go to a sports-bar-type place. Of course every person in Ohio is there watching the Steelers-Pat's game. So we get to our table. Suddenly, something happens on the 10 screens they have playing the exact same thing, and every single person but my family in the restaurant is yelling. We must've stayed for about 5 minutes before we had enough of that and finally went to Fridays.

I actually had no idea a game was on that night.

Yeah. It happens. It's a sports bar.

That's why I stick to Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, Bistro.....restaurants without a TV. And my family hates it when restaurants have TVs because they always say we came to have a "family bond", if we wanted to watch TV we could've stayed home. And in your situation you can't even talk with your family because of the sports fan screaming everytime there's a touchdown/fumble/flag.

I guess only go to a sports bar restaurant during a big Steelers-Pat game when you are there to actually watch the game and not go if you are only interested in having a quiet, sit-down dinner. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but I think it is pretty obvious.

If you walk into a sports bar while a game's playing, this is what you can expect. I personally find almost all sports to be really boring and no matter how much I've tried can't get into watching them. I wouldn't want to try to eat out with my family in a place like that where all you can do is sit and listen to fans screaming.

HOWDY!!! Darth,

Yes Sir that sure would annoy me if I wasn't drunk like most of them were. I quit drinking 20 something years ago. I watched the game here at home and I lost interest it was a run away game.

There is nothing wrong with a drink or two just so people don't go overboard and make themselves look like Idiots like I had done too many times. I hope you and your family enjoyed you meals at Fridays. I would like to take my wife out but with no wheels it is kind of hard to do.

So Long for Now.

STAY SAFE!!!

Yes. It annoys me when people come to a "sports-bar-type place" and think it will be a 5-star dining experience.

It's your family's fault for going there, not the crowd. If you want a quiet meal, don't go to a place that has 10 big screen televisions.

Duh.

Big game, sports bar...I'd have to expect that kind of thing. I made the mistake of entering a regular hotel restaurant in Pittsburgh during a "big game" and EVERYONE was fascinated with it but me. God help me if I had gone into a sports bar.

That sucks you know?! I went to a restaurant once and this kid was playing with the chop stitcks and using it as drum stitcks, hitting and making noise, he did that for probably half an hour before the ***** who is his mother did soemthing, or maybe he did that the entire time I was there, I don't remember, but I wanted to go to his table grab it and tell his mother what a bad mother she was being. I understand how you feel, that must have sucked, some people just don't have class!

I wouldn't have gone to a "sports-bar-type" restaurant in the first place. That's what happens - especially on big game nights.

anytime there is a screaming crowd of meatheads-and anytime that I don't share that joy, which is usually all the time;yes it's annoying to say the least.
what's more annoying is the bad choice of restaurant you went to. should have known before you went to a sports bar on game night.

Doesn't annoy me I'm a hardcore Patriots fan, GO PATS! Also, my family would laugh at the situation if it was us and not the pats. We aren't that stuck up we get up and walk away because of a little bit of fun. And if you live in Ohio you should have been having fun, only a party pooper wouldn't.
