No - he is named after a football player - The link below tells where his name actually comes from -
"Mitt Romney is the son of former Michigan Governor and 1968 presidential candidate George W. Romney, and 1970 U.S. Senate candidate Lenore Romney. His name "Willard" was after hotel magnate J. Possibly, but doubtful.
However, it does answer why he has no chance. We are just not going to elect anyone to the White House who goes by "Mitt."
