I've gained some weight and want to shed it but also work on my legs for next season as a running back

what you need to gain muscle and lose fat ?
high protein intake low carbs and fat intake
also mega-dosing high amounts of protein does no real good your body can only use so much at a time
i used those protein shakes for years but they're better for their vitamin and amino acid content than they are for providing protein
your best friend when your working out is lean lunch meat eat eat four or five slices every three hours or so this way your body has a constant supply of protein and amino acids and your not getting any extra fat or carbs.
the key is every three hours beyond that the proteins you ingested before have all been used and the extra gets turned into fat then you don't get more protein until your next meal
you'll see a great deal of bulking up if you eat like this with no fat gain and your muscles will recover much faster from working out

Eat protien and carbs, they feed muscles, Salads and water, burns fat; but its kind of hard to do both at the same time.
