is a 20 week ultrasound the same as the 11-13 week ultrasound ?? or do they do this one from inside ??

i dont hjave to have a full bladder ... i only have to drink 500ml bottle of water before i get in the office they said

No they do externally .. And for the one who said a very full bladder you actually have to drink half as much as the 13 weeks ultrasound .. They will check your baby thoroughly for any abnormalities and make sure everything is there . You can find out the sex if you wanted to and if baby is in right position ..
The only time normally you will get a vaginal ultrasound is very early on in the pregnancy :)

With this ultrasound it should be abdominal and not transvaginal. I know when I had my first ultrasound, I was confused when the tech told me to undress from the waist down. I was like I am just getting an ultrasound, not a pelvic exam right. They never show the ultrasound done any other way on television. I was not prepared. But anywho.. good luck. You finally get to know boy ...or girl. If you want to know.

they'll call you if something is erroneous. when I had my 22 ultrasound, they instructed me that i exchange into 18 weeks, because of the size of the newborn, and then I had a "20" week ultrasound, which could have been week 24, yet they mentioned i exchange into measuring further alongside than they theory.. it particularly relies upon on the size of the newborn, each and every thing might desire to be ok... good success!

The 20 week ultrasound is from the outside and usually when they determine the gender of your baby. (Granted you want to know and the baby is cooperating.) They also check to make sure that certain developmental milestones are being reached (in other words, they check to make sure that he/she is growing on schedule and without problems). Congrats! Its a fun one!

It depends on where you have it done. Our first ultrasound in office is done internally. But our 20 week is done at an outpatient facility, and they do it on the belly.

They do it from the outside on your belly with a very full bladder usually. And if you want they can usually determine the sex of the baby at this scan.

Normally at 20 weeks they will tell you the sex of your baby (if you wanna know).
