I have a few friends that are gay and that are lesbian, and I admit, before I met them I was pretty close-minded about the whole thing. I was pretty much against the whole idea of homosexuality and believed that people were meant to procreate. But now that some of my closest friends are gay, I think otherwise.

I think it's the case that the people who still bash gays/lesbians don't really know any on a friendly level to begin with! It's like me hating red-haired people even if I haven't met one before. (This is not true. I love red-haired people, too)

Yes, when homophobes are told to deal with their brother or best girlfriend they get a more tolerant attitude. This is why it makes a difference for gay people to come out, and it's why I a straight person speak up to bashers. I tell them things like "two of my best girlfriends got married to each other." "My brother is happy with Jim his life-partner."
As a straight woman past child-bearing age, I have the right to enjoy sex with my boyfriend even though we won't procreate.

i do in comparison to your further info... regularly because of the fact it incorporates the implication that gay anybody is undesirable. yet different than for that, i haven't any unfavourable feeling in the direction of people who haven't any reliable evaluations on the situation. In my eyes, in a suitable international, being gay could be an entire non-concern to anybody. So all people who has that feeling now, is genuinely advantageous by potential of me. that is particularly a astonishing recommendations-set to have, and in case your coronary heart is interior the nicely suited place, that is fairly a lot greater desirable than outright help. you do no longer look that information nevertheless, and that i might even say, slightly homophobic. yet, as I understand you grew up in a distinctive time, and it would be no longer undemanding which you will exchange what you sense/have faith now, i ought to declare that I get excitement from which you have have been given desperate to stay out of it, and not permit the gay concern influence you. If anybody who did no longer fairly approve of gays did that, we would particularly have all of our elementary human rights.
