All of my friends are pretty much drop-dead gorgeous, and I have low self-esteem. I know that I am not beautiful but I would appreciate some ideas on what I could do to improve my appearance.

That's a picture of me from a year ago. I look kind of the same now, but with straight hair.

This one has really weird coloring because me sister took it of me and edited it for her photography class. I do not have dark bags under my eyes, my lips naturally aren't that red, and those red dots aren't zits, they're freckles.

Here's one of me and my sister. I'm the one on the right. It's also not too good of a picture of me, but it'll do.
Thanks!

I was also a little bit fatter in the picture of me from a year ago, that's why it looks pretty bad.

I was afraid to look at your pictures because I thought I'd have to make up some nice response to make an ugly, hopelessly homely fat kid feel better about herself. You're not ugly, homely or fat. You have beautiful red hair and beautiful eyes, and your freckles make you look very young, which you're going to appreciate when you're older, trust me. (I'm 41).
I highly doubt your friends are drop-dead gorgeous. Your look is natural, youthful and fresh, and the "popular" look now is blond, tanned and anorexic, which is probably why you feel so self-conscious about yourself.
Teenage years are the worst, but you can make them better if you spend your time doing things you enjoy, making good friends and dreaming and planning about your goals for your life. One day some handsome guy who loves red hair and fair skin and thinks freckles are the hottest thing ever will fall in love with you and marry you, and all the blondes with fake tans will be getting plastic surgery to keep up with society.
Give yourself a break and have a great childhood and teenage experience. You only get one chance, so don't waste it looking at what everyone else has.

You do have a great, very unique look. But it's not the typical "beauty queen" look that most young people like...it's one that you'll have to grow into. You'll see as you get older that more and more people will appreciate your gorgeous qualities. If you want some tips on make-up, go to the make-up counter at the mall in one of the department stores (or maybe Sephora) and get them to do a make-up application. They usually make you purchase one item but you can get a lip gloss for like $15. I've done it multiple times for school dances. Make sure you tell them what areas you are looking to improve and ask all the questions you want.
Also, for the hair, if you want to do it curly and it has some natural wave to it, buy a mousse and put some in while your hair is still wet then scrunch it with a towel. I do my wavy hair that way and it turns out looking good. Just send me a message if you have more questions about it. Best of luck sweetness. I know how you feel. I thought no one liked my looks in high school and now everyone tells me they love my hair and I'm lucky to look so young for my age. So chin up! :)

Oh sweetie... you're gorgeous! You've got beautiful hair and adorable freckles!
1. NEVER dye your hair. That color is very rare (only 2% of people in the world have naturally red hair) and very beautiful.
2. If you're self conscious about the freckles use a tinted moisturizer to attempt to even it or lighten the look of the freckles.
3. Play up your gorgeous eyes. Brown eyeshadow and brownish black mascara. Very black mascara would look awkward because of your complexion. Also, fill in your brows with the lightest brown shade of pencil you can find. It'll give your face more definition.

You are so pretty! Don't feel jealous of anyone else; I'm sure lots of girls look at you and wish they looked like you do. :)
I only have a few suggestions:
1.) Try some different things with your hair, such as straightening it, or making it wavy, or putting it in a updo or something. You'll hit on something that really enhances your look.
2.) Try some pretty, light eyeshadow/eyeliner. Soft blue, like really pale blue, would probably look really pretty if you're sparing with it.
3.) Try some feminine, flwing clothes. You'll end up looking like a little celtic goddess. :)

Your a cute girl! I would say if your looking to change your looks a lil....try a new haircut. Play with the idea of something bold and dramatic...maybe try some color options for your hair color ...highlights/lowlights etc.
Experiment with makeup.....seek advice with the ladies at a cosmetics counter....M.A.C. or Clinique.....etc. Always embrace your natural beauty and just have fun with it!!

Something I've learned: Guys (and girls, too) tend to prefer *real* people, instead of things they think were pulled out of a magazine. Just look how you like to. No one care. Don't look like someone who's not you. We can all tell when you're trying to be someone else.

You are not pretty but you are very cute. To put that into perspective, my wife is not pretty but she is cute. Now, forget the concepts of pretty and cute. You are also very attractive.
If you want to "improve" your appearance, just keep smiling and understand that you are attractive. If I were single and your age, I would hesitate to approach you fir fear that you might reject me due to your attractiveness.

I truly think you are a doll. You are just adorable but you really shouldn't post your picture on the internet because you afre really cute and it probably is not the safest thing for you to be doing.

You are still too young to be worrying.
I think you will grow up to be very pretty.
Right now you are cute, but still have some growing to do.
There is no reason for you to have a low self esteem.

the first impression that i got from your pictures is that you are still quite young and have yet to reach your full potential. i think you have alot of potential. but your going to grow into it. you remind me a bit of Ginny from harry potter...you know like when shes young...like shes portrayed as cute but harry only starts thinking shes pretty when shes much older...i think thats whats going to happen for you
