I am in 6th grade and I REALLY want to make the cheerleading squad next year but I'm scared I won't make it. I am not at all flexible and the only tumbling I can do is a cartwheel and a roundalf. I have had experience with cheering though. Do you think I will make it? Any tips for me?

Since you have cheerleading experience then i think you are already at the head of the pack!!
but you need to work on a few things.
Tumbling doesnt matter. im on my highschool squad and i can only do a round off.

dont push yourself too hard with these, only go as far down as you can and hold it for 30 seconds to one minute

The other things you will need are good jumps.
since you have been in cheerleading you should know the toe touch, hurdeler, hurkie, pike. and also the high kick
You should also know motions. remember straight wrists and arms, tight, use every muscle to keep it in line
High/Low V and Touchdown, Right/Left L, K, Diagonal, Fight. T, Broken T, Candel Sticks, Buckets, Bow and Arrow, Clap, Clasp and others

Also practice some dances. Simple and easy, so that you can get used to moving with the beat and basic moves

you should be set!
good luck!

Middle School Cheer Tryouts

Okay heya doll! Firstly, you wanna take a tinted moisturizer or liquid foundation. Apply and then add a rose or peach blusher if needed up to the temples and on cheeks but BLEND well! Then take the lightest shade of eyeliner (nearest to your skintone) you have and apply to lids, then take next lightest colour and build up and outwards onto browbone but not too far out. Now take a brown eyeliner IF you have one. If not take a black pencil liner and line as near to the lashline as possible. You can also do your waterline (Google it if you need to clarify where this is) :* For lips apply Vasaline or a nice clear sheen lipgloss that you can apply again just before tryouts! Btw, clear mascara OR brown mascara works better than black and looks natural:) Good Luck for the tryouts! Hope you liked the makeup idea :) Xx

Sadly, in middle school, people equate tumbling with being a good cheerleader. I would try and take some lessons at a gymnastics place. You should be able to do a roundoff and a few flip flops. And work on your flexibility. You need to be flexible to do the jumps and the tumbling.

But sadly, in middle school, it's also a populatiry contest.

Wear your hair in a high ponytail. Then use a light pink lipstick and use a clear lipgloss over it. Use light blush and wear mascara then add sparkles, color of ur choice (I would suggest gold or silver/white) and dab them on ur eyelids. The sparkles will replace ur eyeshadow. Personaly I don't think you need eyeliner but if you want your eyes to look bigger and brighter then line your waterline with white eyeliner. You can put some sparkles in you hair if you would like. This look is natural but glittery and fun. Remember to smile and be confident! Hope I helped! Happy holidays!

I'm no cheer leader but I know at my middle school they let just about every body in. My girlfriend said they teach you from scratch. She says thats the way all the schools around here are.

Hope your school is the same If not goodluck

Sorry you probably won't make the team. But hang out with cheerleaders and ask for help. Practice facials like smiles and being cute. Have great spirit and work on stretching since you have a year. Work on your jumps and being tight. But coaches can not say no to a girl with gooooood spirit.
