The usuals...lima beans, green beans, black-eyed peas, liver. And then there's oatmeal, which I HATE! If it wasn't bad enough on the first day, my Mother would make a lot and take the left over part, dump it out of the pot, slice it and fry it on the second day. BLEAH! We won't even discuss the fried hog brain incident....or the making of head cheese (double yuck)

Well my mother never served weird stuff-so I pretty much ate what was there.
The only time I didnt eat something was when I'd let a bowl of Frosted Flakes get soggy. She insisted that I eat it-or get a spanking! i just waited until she turned her head-and poured it into a vase in the middle of the table.
For days-my family kept complaining-"What is that smell?"
It was the spoiled milk in the vase!

Not as a child but as an adult.m My Mother in Law served up choko's with nutmeg.
I don't like them at the bet of times but with nutmeg they are even more disgusting.

Peas, lima beans, asparagus. My mother used to half-cook peas and lima beans and get mad if we didn't eat them. It wasn't till I got older that I liked lima beans. They're great if cooked right with salt pork. And I like Le Suer peas. I still hate asparagus.

once my uncle fried up a squirel, rabbit, possom mix and thought i might like it. i didn't! he was a hunter and i used to hate to see the tiny little bodies he brought home. i was only nine and i so hated to see him cook!
