france uses francs and probably euros. they are capitalistic, though not as freely as the usa

France has a liberal, capitalist economy. The French economy is capitalist however, the government plays a signicant role in the economy (more than in others G7 countries). So I'd call the French economy "mixed" And don't listen to all these rednecks, France doesn't have a "socialist" economy!!!

France is a social welfare state like most countries in Europe. The have a capitalist private sector with relatively high taxes and extensive social programs.
