I may be selling shirts. I get 25% commission on my sales. Sound good? I'd have my own branch. The price is set an $15, it costs $5 to ship (I'm not sure if it's $5/shipment or per shirt. I'm finding that out), I get $3.75/shirt. I can earn more money by setting the price a little higher, but probably not a good idea, or after selling a certain amount of shirts my commission becomes 30%. Sound good? I will have more questions. Thanks

People order them, I send the order to the warehouse and the warehouse sends them to the person. I'll probably only do this for a few weeks just to see how much I sell. Then I'll order in bulk and sell them from there so they can go a bit cheaper. No other employees, I don't have to rent space, I do the advertising my self.

The only expense that I'd have to be concerned about is the shipping. I'm not sure if it's $5/ shirt or per order

Oh and it's the only place to buy these shirts. I'm the only distributer in the state, I think

Do you have to rent a store? How much is the rent? Where are you selling these things? Is there a lot of traffic? Will you have other employees? What are your estimated total expenses per month?

OK what you are doing is drop shipping. I would add a little extra on to allow more of a profit margin. After being in business for several years, I never mark up for less than 47%, before shipping and taxes.

Most Pawn Brokers I know mark up items 3x the amount paid.

Go to http://www.score.org/ and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.
