because cloud came from water vapor and when it is heavy enough and cannot hold it for long the water vapor turn into moist and turn into water -it is the rain.

Rain clouds are produced when moisture is lifted up into the air and cooled. Condensation begins to occur and clouds are formed. The level at which this process begins is called the LCL (lifted condensation level) or the CCL (convective condensation level) depending on how it's lifted. An updraft will allow these water molecules to remain suspended until there is so much that the updraft can no longer sustain it. A greater amount of moisture available and greater lift allows for heavier rain and thunderstorms. There is much more science involved but this is a simple explanation. Hope this helps!

Clouds form when upward flowing air, which cools from expansion, can no longer contain all the water vapour it holds. Some of the vapour condenses into water droplets(or ice crystals if the air is cold enough) forming a cloud.
If the air temperature inside the cloud is above freezing, many such tiny water droplets merge together to form rain drops which subsequently grow until they become heavy enough to fall, reaching the ground as rain.
If ice crystals are present inside the cloud, they bond together until large enough to fall. While falling, they either remain frozen, reaching the ground as snow,or melt, reaching the ground as rain.
So, when clouds can no longer hold the bigger rain drops, they fall as rain and because of air friction, the rain drops break up into different small sizes.

Clouds are water. As you probably know, we can find water in three forms: liquid, solid and gas. Water as a gas is called water vapor. Clouds form when water vapor turns back into liquid water droplets. That is called condensation. It happens in one of two ways: when the air cools enough, or when enough water vapor is added to the air. You’ve seen the first process happen on a summer day as drops of water gather on the outside of a glass of ice tea. That’s because the cold glass cools the air near it, causing the water vapor in the air to condense into liquid. Unlike the drops on the side of your glass though, the droplets of water in a cloud are so small that it takes about one million of them to form a single raindrop. Most clouds form this way, but the cooling comes not from ice in a glass, but as the air rises and cools high in the sky. Each tiny cloud droplet is light enough to float in the air, just as a little cloud floats out from your breath on a cold day
