In children the adverse effects of isolation are: low cognitive functioning, which shows up as low verbal skills on IQ tests.
Children left in isolation do not communicate well and often have learning disablities.
There is social and environmental isolation.

One of the major ones is despair...there is also a huge chance of and for depression...feelings of worthlessness...and maybe the possibility of feeling like the person who is in isolation is never going to get better because they are more ill than anyone else....
I think all of the adverse effects of isolation would be psychological.

Your sanity will suffer and you will be depressed. That's why those in prison read books and work out to keep their sanity.

probably depression... not good with human interaction, loss of sanity
