The week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it "offended" the Muslim population which claimed it never occurred. This is a frightening portent of fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it. It is now a little over 60 years since WW2 ended.
Is this necessary to keep the memory of this in schools or should it be removed?

Comments anyone?

The holocaust is serious and needs to be remembered like happens in the UK
E-mails are circulating around the world, claiming the UK has banned the teaching of the Holocaust in schools.
The false suggestion is the action has been taken by the government to avoid offending some Muslim communities.

The source of the rumour may be a report that some history teachers were uncomfortable with sensitive subjects.

In fact the government has reaffirmed that in England, teaching children about the Holocaust is compulsory, and it is not banned elsewhere in the UK.

It's part of our world's history and should not be suppressed. I remember seeing and reading the stories in newspapers, newsreels in the theaters and magazines at the end of the war in Europe. There was no live TV back in those days and if there had been, the worst of the horrors would have been deleted. The stories weren't faked as some of the youngsters on this board would have us believe..

It is a historically significant event and thus should be taught in any world history class.

No matter what the news claims or what the UK decides...It should stay. Those who deny it happened are grossly misinformed.

Oh bullshit. You made all that up. Muslims don't deny the Holocaust--only that clown Mammoud Amadinejad.
