I think it really depends on how bad the procrastination problem is and how much of a will the person has to succeed.
I'm a chronic procrastinator too. But I've currently completed a master's degree and am working (successfully) as a professor. Although I tend to allow things to go until the last minute, when that last minute hits, I'm there and doing the work. And somehow I manage to get it all done... by the deadline.
Ask yourself how determined you are to succeed in life. You are the only one who can allow procrastination to ruin your life. And you are the only one who can decide to not let it defeat you.
Peace! :-)

What an intriguing question! In my youth, I was a procrastinator. I waited until the last minute and often missed deadlines as a result. As I got older, I realized that I was procrastinating because I actually worked better under some amount of pressure. The problem was that I had not enough life experience to accurately assess how much time I needed to finish a particular project. So, as I got older, I used the discovery to my advantage. I now know about how much time I need for a particular project. I wait until that time comes, and I go for it! As a result, I do my best work. Your question reminded me of myself. If it is of any consolation to you, I actually left college at one point. Today, I have my PhD (an A- average). Dr. B

I think sometimes procrastination is a sign of low self esteem. By procrastinating in a project, for example, you are not doing it wrong. there is also a chance that is is a physical lack of something in your body so perhaps get a check up including a glucous tolerance test to see if you may have hypoglycemia which could lead to a lack of motivation perhaps. As far as the self esteem, I will give you a website that you can explore and then click on the link for self esteem.
On a practical level, you can make a list of things you need to do and then cross them off as they are done and perhaps that may help as well. Good Luck to you!!

personally, i procrastinated thoughtout all of high school. hahaha. sad to say i have the disease. :)
i still got all my work done, even though its last minute. i graduated and was never scared that i wouldnt. just make sure you get it done and you will.
one thing about applying that towards careers is that, not all employers will actually want it last minute. careers are so competitive that you dont want to even take the chance of doing that. you want to be better than everyone else, and excel to a higher position. they wont give that position to you if you dont show that you can do things better than others. they look for the BEST and the BRIGHTEST, and being a procrastinator only makes you look like a slacker and might cause you to get fired.
to conclude my answer, you can get through it for school; just not with all life in general. :)
hope that helped!! :)

procrastinating affects people differently. it may affect you more than others. it has more to do with how efficiently you get things done than when. as long as you do it by the deadline, it doesn't matter. so to answer you question, yes, they do, but not always.

I find that we rarely succeed in succeeding, but we hardly fail at failing.
but seriously, I don't think so. You have to get your priorities straight.
