I have a sealed chassis so I don't have to lubricate the chassis or suspension. But as far as door handles and other hinges go, can I use WD-40 or do I need some type of auto-grade oil/grease?

WD-40 is a degreaser and a good emergency/short-term lubricant, but will leave you with dry joints eventually. As the answerers above say, white lithium grease works well, and, unlike WD-40, it will continue to lubricate for a long time.

sure it is going to restoration the squeak.. although i might use a twig white lithium grease. that's thicker and could stay and lubricate the hing slightly longer than WD-40. dirt carry on with and could take up wd-40 and it will in uncomplicated terms velocity up the placed on and tear and the squeak will come back beforehand of with a white grease. Now wd-40 would be ok on the antenna as there is not any rigidity which could placed on it out. door hinges have the burden of the door on them continuously and the leverage places much extra rigidity on the hinge while the door is open. you go with a stable thick lube which will say and lube the hing properly . loss of lubrication on the hings will reason placed on an ought to get replaced faster. in case you have a vehicle/truck that has wield on hinges with a door pin gadget .The door pin and bushing will placed on out faster and the door will drop and reason injury . that injury can fee hundreds of greenbacks to restoration. been doing custom autos for type of 15 years and altered dissimilar wiped out door pin for pals and kin .

WD-40 would be fine, just make sure to clean off any other over spray from the can, it could get on the seat or something like that. Another good type of grease you could use is White Lithium grease.
