I had a 2004 G35 with the Brembos/6-spd and loved it. ...but, it was way too heavy and expensive. What can I buy with a 2+2 configuration under 3000 pounds. Although it's FWD, I'm considering a Civic Si.

Good choice, but take a look at the VW GTI as well. Both are fun, light, and easily upgraded.

Pontiac Solstice
This stylish, two-seat roadster is powered by a standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that sounds and feels harsh. Wide gear spacing in the manual transmission is a major flaw, but a lower third gear is new for 2007. Handling is fairly nimble, and the ride is tolerable. Wind noise is apparent even at modest speeds. Interior fit and finish is unimpressive. Lowering the manual top is a multi-step process that requires getting out of the car. Trunk space and interior storage are virtually nonexistent. The GXP comes with a 260-hp, turbocharged engine and standard stability control.

Saturn Sky
Saturn's more deluxe version of the Pontiac Solstice uses the same standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that sounds and feels harsh. The Solstice we tested exhibited handling that is fairly agile and easy to control, and had a tolerable ride. The cabin has unimpressive fit and finish and lacks storage cubbies. Folding the soft top is a multistep process that requires getting out of the car. The trunk has virtually no storage space. The Red Line version transforms the car, with standard stability control and a turbocharged, 260-hp engine.

My uncle has a new Lotus Elise. Even though it is not a 2+2 lol, it is the most fun he has had out of every car he has ever owned. After you test drive one, you will probably ask yourself " Do I really need it to be a 2+2?" Its funny, you may consider a civic Si, when all my friends with a civic Si wish they had a G35.
