I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old and always tell them the truth. There is a Spirit that inspires others to give gifts whether it be Toys, Candy or money. There is no person that is Santa or a rabbit that is the Easter bunny or a real tooth fairy. All these Santa's you see or stories you hear about these people are inspired by this good spirit. If people do not believe in Santa or the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy all these gifts would stop. All the good will would go away as well. Is there a Santa Claus yes there is. Is there an Easter Bunny yes there is Is there a Tooth Fairy yes there is.
Your mother was not wrong in what she said. If you thought they were real people she was probably trying to correct you but I sure see still wants you to believe in the spirits of Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and yes the Tooth Fairy.

Death bed confessions are usually true, but wow, no Santa or Easter Bunny?? I hope I never get into that situation. Takes all the fun out of events. My tooth fairy always came thru.

No, actually there IS a toothfairy. She invented the Santa and Easter Bunny thing so you would think that if they are a myth she is too, and she could live in NeverNeverLand undisturbed forever.

ok at the risk of sounding shocked , how old are you to not know that these figures have played to childrens imaginations and delight. Although I sympathise maybe that was her way of holding on to innocence.
