Why has family income increased but both the minimum wage and average wage in the United States have decreased and remained roughly constant?

More families have more than one earner and the second earners are earning more.

because families are getting smaller. people used to have more kids, so there was much less expendable cash. and minimum wage has increased, the most recent being about two years ago.

Don't know but Canada is no better with a Harper government or/and Delton Mcquinty government
