I heard on the news that before the invasion there were 2 million Christians in Iraq and hundreds of churches. Now all the churches are empty or destroyed and most of the Christians have been killed or fled the country. What few Christians that are left are living in fear and hiding. The "religious cleansing" is being carried out by the Shia militia that the Bush administration is arming and supporting. Can anyone in Iraq confirm that this is true?

Sure looks that way.

The Assyrian Christian population of Iraq has been brutalized by both ethnic and religious attacks since the US-led invasion in 2003.
When "W" finally saunters off the world stage, the Assyrian Christian community in Iraq will probably be gone as well.
