cloning is just like everything else in science, it is good and bad with ethical issues that must be addressed before it is put to use. It is easy to see the issues of cloning humans and even animals. Since there would have to be plenty of experimentation before this is done, we would have to consider what would happen to all those "tests" that didn't quite work out, or what might be created and survive. As for the cloning of food products, we have to consider the natural balance of alleles and the variation of genetic code that exists. Most likely, we would clong the biggest and best cows (for example) leading to less and less variation in the gene pool, ending in a situation where the proliferation of the bovine species depends upon its cloning by humans.

I suppose this all would be very far into the future, if we are even still around by then. For now, we have to stop and think about the ethical issues that come with cloning organisms.
