Ok. Two of my friends went to a party and lied to there parents and such. Then came to my house to stay the night. They called there parents and told them they were staying the night over a friends. After they left, there parents called back and found out that I wasn't that friend. Could the parent go to jail for that or not?

According to the police in my city the answer is yes. I allowed my brother to bring his girlfriend to my house one day and her parents sent the police to my house. They told me they could charge me for harboring a runaway, even if I didn't know anything about it. She wasn't actually a runaway, her parents just didn't want her talking to my brother and were willing to go to any lengths to prevent it.

Do you mean could "your" parents go to jail because your friends lied to "their" parents?

No. If you, or your parents, had lied to your friends parents about where their kids were, you 'might' face charges for interfering with parental rights, but no-one else is responsible for the lies the kids told their own parents.

I'm very confused.

First, I dont think anyone can go to jail, because no harm has been done to people... and yeah.

The parents... they can't go to jail. they were just checking up. I'd definatly ground my child for lying to me, once they came back home.
