It's not in the name-database that I use, but that doesn't mean it's made up; and, since I'm not familiar with it (as I was with Jaiden/Jaydon) I won't jump to any conclusions.
The first poster seems to have a good meaning. However, one should take into account that, while one of the names used as inspiration is most definately Ethan ... names other than Nathaniel (Daniel comes to mind) would be more likely, simply by virtue of the fact that the more established/popular/original spelling of Nathaniel is Nathanael ... and modern variants rarely get their own variants. In all actuality, I wouldn't so much class Ethaniel as a combination of names (even if the intent was was taken from such a combination) simply by virtue of the fact that he second name that was being "combined" isn't very clear in context nor pronunciation/form ... it's more of an elaboration by way of taking an established name (Ethan) and adding an established/compatable suffix (-iel ... as used in names like Daniel, Gabriel, etc)
However, it isn't listed anywhere in the social security admin., so it's very rare and probably very recently created.
Some etymologists will tell you that a name coined by combination doesn't have any true ties to the original names meanings, while some will say it does - it's somewhat a matter of opinion.
But, if you break the name apart: Ethan means "strong and enduring", while the Hebrew name element -iel denotes a relationship to god (usually translated as "of God", "God is" or "God has").

It's an obvious combination of Ethan and Nathaniel.
Ethan means "firmness, steadfastness, constancy"
Nathaniel means "gift of God"
If you are looking for a less common variant, you may want to consider Eitan (the Hebrew version of Ethan).
