I don't have a box in front of my home, and I gotta get all my stuff through a pobox.

If you give a 9 digit zip (xxxxx-xxxx), do places realise that the last four digits are your pobox number? and will they auto send stuff to you there even when you give a physical address.

ok, well it was wierd because I looked up my 9 digit pobox, and the last 4 numbers, were the same as my pobox 4 numbers, I guess it was coincidence.

When you have a post office box (P.O. Box) its usaully identified on what your sending or recieving.

i.e: John Doe
P.O. Box 1234
Happyville, TX
01234

I'm not sure what the question has to do with Politics and Government, but no, there is nothing about the last 4 digits that would tell a causal observer it is a post office box.

There are companies that have to have a physical address as they won't ship to a post office box.

If you give your street address, give the 9 digit ZIP for that address, not for your post office box, and then you can be sure there will be no confusion.

http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp will give you the full ZIP for any address.

If you just got a PO Box and want stuff delivered there instead of to your home due to lack of a box or mail slot then you need to do a change of address form.

You can:
1. Ask your mail person for one if you happen to see them
2. Go to the post office online and change it there for a $1 fee

3. Go to the post office and grab a change of address form usually found near the teller near a pen so that you can fill it out there

file a change of address with the post office having all mail go to the P.O. Box. It's hard to do that and still have important bills come to your house though. ALL maill will be directed to the address you list at the post office.

You need to tell everyone your address. They may or may not send you mail at your street address. If I get any mail at the street address, they usually return it to the sender. So the best thing for you to do is go to the post office & talk to them & see what would be the best thing for you to do. They may have some kind of papers for you to fill out. Good luck!
