Some Thought about treating Depression
By
minootoo
Talk to your doctor about it for sure. It happens in some cases, need to adjust the dosage. Or change the type, or even stop.
Do not stop the treatment on your own but do add certain thing to your life style.
1. Go for a long walk on a tranquil path, or just any quiet street.
2. Get plenty of sun sines.
3. Have a list of thing to do, when an attack comes on, pick it up and engage you doing some thing, it may be just Ironing a dress or polishing the shoes or any mild physical activity, go window shopping near by or walk to a library. Take a shower, or wash your head or soak your self in a tub.
4. Keep comedy (books, video, movie,) on handle to pick up and use.
5. Keep picture of happy event to look at.
6. See if you can come up with few thing to do say at least 100 of them keep adding from day to day and I am sure you will have so much to look forward to and so much to do that you will not have any time to feel depress.
7. ----------.
8.
..
..
100. See what happens, please include on the list some cheerful person or the person that you like to talk to like grand ma, or grand father or a favorite aunt, Also include some goal to achieve and try to figure out how to go about achieving them.
By the time you complete the list the depression should be over.
This is a perfect science base on blood level of chemical call sera tone and the other...., the pills are suppose to adjust such chemical's levels in the blood.
Hope it was prescribed after the blood test. If not talk to the doctor, go on internet and read about the side effects, so you can talk with info in your hand.

How to Concentration
By
minootoo
Most of us have a limited attention spell (about 45 minute on an average), so trick is to increase the length of this attention spell.
So you must find that magic period for you or assume that you are average and set an alarm for 40 minutes and start doing things with full concentration. When the alarm goes of you must take 5 minutes break and repeat the process, in few day you will be very comfortable with this arrangement. Now it is a time to increase this period to say 50 minutes or even and hour, but still take 5 minutes off and repeat this and expand the time every few days, taking the same 5 minutes beaks. Soon you will find that you will need less amount of break on your own. Setting the alarm for the length of break is very important also no matter what.
Hints:
1. Healthy life style is a must.
2. Good 8 hour minimum sleep at night time or at the least 8 hours of rest.
3. Nutritious food. Regular eating habits.
4. Exercises, light and on regular bases.

This is my general advice to all.
You sound very young and if you are under 25, then study hard if in school or college, stay and finish it. Or join a school or college, acquire higher education.
Avoid distraction while studying at home or at school, just concentrate on the thing that you do at the time you are doing.
Build a carrier, youth comes but once take full advantage of it. Study hard, play some enjoy friendship, and then at age 30 if still unattached then try the sites like.

How much exercise and fresh air are you getting. Start there walk round the park join a rambling group and get onto the moors. It surprising how your outlook will improve. i think that is what a therapist would tell you for a fee and you have just got it for free. The fact that people are taking the trouble to answer this question shows that you are a worthwhile person.
I also have suffered from depression it is not nice and you tend to feel you are the only one being reasonable

Tell them what you told us....how old are you? If you are a teenager, like me, your experiencing mood swings and "changes" or even depression...I think the statistic is 1 in 10 teenagers suffer from depression, and girls are more vulnerable..
Or go to your school counselor. The one problem with that, however, is that they are not known to keep secrets...
If you still continue experiencing this problem, write more questions.....people on here are generally very caring and willing to help..
I love you. I don't know you, but I love you and know that you can get through this!

If there is a school therapist, see one. And maybe when you talk to your mom or dad, say that you would like to see a therapist, and say that you really are serious. Or, you could talk to someone you trust and tell them how you feel, like a older person, and they will tell your parents.
Or talk to a teacher you feel comfortable talking with, and ask if they could tell your parents.

As difficult as it sounds, you need to sit your parents down and tell them you need to be serious with them. You need to explain that you are depressed and whatever the reason is, you want to go to a therapist to help you cope.
Tell them you hide your depression and that inside you're suffering.
The only way to let them know is to tell them.

when i was 17, 18, no one, and i mean absolutely no one that knew me well had any idea that i was considering suicide. i kept making these deals with myself. just one more year. just one more birthday. that kind of thing. i needed some help and i'm super lucky that i lived thru it. but, these days help is much more readily available. school counselors, teachers too, etc. asking questions on yahoo is also a start. ya know? i'm glad i'm alive and lived thru it, so make sure you live thru this. ok?

Take a step outside of yourself, hang out with poor families and bums, and less fortunate people, then look back at yourself and see what you still don't like about yourself, then come up with a plan to live with it or change it, and see a therapist if you still need to
