In "The Big Lebowski," who is the Dude talking about when he references "Ron Cooby"?

Question

This is during the scene in the office of the Chief of Police of Malibu, when the Dude is all messed up from whatever it was that Jackie Treehorn put in his Caucasian. I might have spelled "Cooby" wrong, but even when I googled various spellings of it, I couldn't find out if there is an actual person by that name, and if so, what he did.

That's it. Thank you. If you scroll down to the bottom of the Wiki article and look in the "pop culture" section, it says right there that Kuby is referenced in "The Big Lebowski."

I don't remember that scene, but, there is a famous attorney, Ron Kuby.
