As a beta tester in my spare time for antivirus/antispyware I consider Nortons to be garbage. In my own personal opinion I use what the Govt. Of China uses. Twister Trojan Antivirus from Beijing, China. You only pay a one time fee for life of $29.99 and you will get daily auto. updates and all new versions for life. Get avg anti-virus free edition. It is simple to use yet is great in tracking down threats to you computer. The best part is it doesn't slow down your computer as much as antivirus softwares such as McAfee VirusScan and Symantec Antivirus, not even 1/4 as much!

well erm free- antivirus from grisoft.
pay - antivirgear
lost my copy of antivirgear but it was amazing. Grisoft better at preventing viruses. antivirgear gets rid of em. And there is a pay version of the grisoft one. But jus use free one :) does the job.

get yaself a decent modem router with a firewall built in ...
netgear 834 or something..
then add.. (both free)
