There is a coin with Alexander the Great attacking Porus on his elephant and on the obverse Alexander is holding a scepter and a thinderbolt (associated with Zeus).
I have to catagorize it into one or more of the following in regard to Greek history: economic, political, military, social and cultural.
Which of these does it fall under and why?
It's not just economic because its on a coin but what would the images on the coin fall under and why ?

Coins in the ancient world were often used to advertise political, military and related events.

In this case, the coin is advertising the defeat of the Indian kingdom of Porus (which used armored elephants in combat) by Alexander.

So it's pretty much all those things. Economic because it's Greek imperial money. Political because it extols the victory of the Greek ruler. Military because it shows the victory over the novelty (to the Greeks) of war elephants. Social because it is being used to spread information about one part of the Greek empire in another. Cultural because it uses Greek religious imagry.

Tell your teacher it is a dumb question. The answer is "All of the above".

Political because it shows political control after the conquest
Military, because without conquest Alexander would not be issuing coins.
Maybe not social, depending on what that means.
Cultural because the use of Greek symbols (Zeus) shows the underlying culture of Alexander's empire.
