I have a problem.. the thing is, I kinda hate it when people have the same goals / interests as me.
Yeah I know its dumb & I try not to let stupid stuff like that bother me. I realize that I'm not special or different from anyone else.. but something inside always gets angry / jealous. One time I had a friend that said she wanted to do the same furture career as me..I got so angry that I randomly stopped talking to her & treated her as though she was my enemy... the worst part is, I still don't regret till this day.
Have any ideas of how I can put all this stupidity behind me?

"Try to realize it's all within yourself, no one else can make you change...and to see you're really only very small, and life flows on within you and without you." ("Within You,Without You" by The Beatles) You have an over-inflated sense of self and a territorial instinct run amok that is clearly unwarranted. The thing is, you know this intellectually, but for some reason you can't internalize the message. So, maybe it would be helpful to determine when this unfortunate tendency first showed itself in you. Why? Because there's probably a link between this eventuality and some other occurrence you found equally bothersome but have chosen to suppress. (Well, that's as good a place as any to begin the search...)
You need some soul-searching...and if that fails to work, try a swift kick in the a s s . Life's too short to obsess about things that don't matter. Besides. the more people know they can piss you off, the more they keep on doing it. Try to let it go. Good luck to you.

Maybe your just affraid that the other person will do better than you? If that is the case you have to relize that even if you have a friend with the same goals as you it doesnt matter. Life should not be a contest if you make it one you will never truely be happy. If you have a friend with the same goals as you you two can help eachother.

Maybe you'd be better off as a loner if you prefer to be so petty about such thngs. There are more serious things happening in the world.
