My 12 year old daughter is a huge fan of KT Tunstall, but she has only done two albums so far. So I was wondering if anyone knows some modern singers(She likes older singers/ band like the Beatles and bob dylan...weird huh? It's funny because the rest of her grade seven class, well most of them, are the same. And I thought and kids listened to was rap. I guess I'm officially *Old* :)) like her, that write songs with real lyrics, nice tunes and meaning, could you post it?
P.S: Doesn't have to be country, this is the only place I could really post it :)

Here are a few you might want to check out:
Feist

Regina Spektor

Fiona Apple- not really new, but her first two albums had great lyrics

Adele

Please check them out first though, because I'm not all that sure that they'll be age appropriate...specifically Fiona.
