tell his family and tell him to go an check himself into the hospital. And if you are thinking that it is a betrayal for you to tell the family, ITS NOT. Even if your friend never talks to you again, you did the right thing. This is a very serious matter and it goes well beyong the boundaries of a school aged friendship. You do not have the necessary skills to deal with this on your own. His family can get him the help he needs.

I hate to say this, and this may make him be upset with you forever, or maybe just for a little while, but you NEED to tell an adult. Or someone. I don't care who, call a suidicide hotline, just call SOMEONE who knows what they're doing, and they can give you proper advice. You need to stay up with him at night on the phone/aim/whatever. Sometimes just being there and talking can save a life. Just try all you can, and please do call someone who is trained to help out people in this situation. Good luck.

You need to tell his parents. Or someone who can get him help quickly! he may be mad at you for a long time but with time he will forgive you for saving his life. Which would you rather have on your concious, feeling guilty for making him mad and betraying his trust? Or letting him kill himself and feel guilty because you didnt do anything to try and prevent it?

definetly tell someone. best chance would be to tell his parents. he might ask you why you told his parents, but just tell him why you told them. just tell him that the bad things that happen are just little things and that you know he wants to grow up and see what happens. tell him that the things that happen now are little, but what about what is going to happen. Put in something he likes that will be coming out in the near future, something that he has to look forward to. this may help him get pass the fact that he "needs" to kill himself.

when i am upset i need my really good friend that i love. if you are his really good friend you should talk 2 him about why he is wanting to do this or else get his closest friend to. you should also tell an adult or someone because you may think you have convinced him not to but haven't actually. if he is talking about killing himself this should be taken very seriously!

OMG!!! okay,
1. make him a list of reasons to live attached to his b-day card.
2. stall him. Like, stay afterwards and talk to him.
3. Don't tell his parents. They might be the cause for it. (if ur pretty sure theyre not than tell them if the above doesn't work)
