Mostly it is done out of respect for the fact that these are ladies. Most people wouldn't talk that way in front of their mom's and it is the same for older women. Besides, older women tend to give you a piece of their mind when they dislike something, who wants to deal with that...☺

I guess that people try to be more polite in front on old ladies partially because of respect, and partially because most of the elderly look and seem so wise and....well, respectable. Sure, some of them have seen it all, but old people today come from a time when if you acted stupid, you had to wear a dunce cap, and if you cursed, you were hit with a ruler or whipped. Something like that. You tend to have more respect for those who know what it means to earn it. Someone who curses a lot, or uses inappropriate terms in everyday conversations is not someone you can easily respect, whereas old people don't usually act like that at all.

So, because old ladies have seen it all, let's put it in a more personal light:
Would you like some smart mouthed punk talking dirty in front of your grandma? If you say "Sure, I don't care", well then you really don't have a clue.
Like a lot of others put it....respect. Pure and simple....respect.

Even if they have "seen it all" ...
(and why would you think that? They were probably virgins on their wedding night and had sex with the lights out to the same man for 50 years)
....it's disrespectful to talk dirty in front of ANY lady...

Because they were brought up in a different time. Where people were proper and didnt speak their mind all the time you just do it out of respect.

They have seen it and done it all. Did you ever think that is why they dont want to hear about it anymore. Show some respect for them. They have done their time with trash talk, just be nice.

i have a 62 year old co-worker. she told me the only way to ride a woman is like a harley. i won't go into detail about her description.. don't talk dirty around them cuz they might start talking dirty to and that's freaking disgusting coming from them. trust me.

Because we like to pretend they don't know anything about sex.
And they grew up in a different time where (most) of them didn't really outwardly do or say anything about sex. They're for the most part conservative.
I have heard of some riley old ladies though. They're so funny
