I would say because families live together and pool their wealth.

They work hard, put the money back into the business and they stick together, loyalty to family is everything. The communities lend their members money to start businesses and generally support each other. The English are known as being bone idle lazy scroungers in some areas by the Asians living there. One of my friends is a SIKH and a very hard working clean and honorable man,he is constantly surprised at the attitude of a lot of the local English. We complain and do nothing about it ourselves,we waste our money on booze, drugs etc etc,a lot of us dont wash properly and too many think fiddling is ok instead of earning it.We never stick together,we barely talk to each other and we certainly cannot be trusted.Looking around in some of the places i have had to operate in ,i find it hard to disagree with him.

I worked for an Indian couple a few years ago at a petrol service station. They wanted their stock taking done every single night before 11pm. even right down to the boxes of matches. I only worked there for two weeks and eventually refused to honour their request. I had no assistant to help so there was extreme pressure to serve and count the stock. I had no criminal record against me, they were just penny pincher's basically, and that's why so many are so rich.

I don't know, work ethic?
Although, it's interesting how indians "Being so rich" isn't corroborated by the high levels of Indian benefit claimants in the U.K... Although maybe it is, and it's just a matter of perspective for you?

Racist comment... think again!.... you are 'pigeon-holing' different races. If you worked 18+ hours in 24 , you would be rich too. Most people in the UK are 'bolshy' by nature , I , for one are. I like my time off my work and don't have a second job. Working all hours of the day for years will lead to ill health for sure.... "Health before Wealth"

Some are rich, some are poor and many are in between.

They all stick together and help each other out, and the ones that really do have the money, employ/help the ones that dont. Slowly but surely they are buying every small shop in existance and turning them into takaways....havent you noticed.

Louisa has it right. That, combined with a stronger work ethic, probably led to them making more money. That said, they also do tend to try to sell whatever they can get their hands on.

No one would employ them so they set up their own businesses and worked hard all members of the family pulling together. They also lived quite frugally. I think that says it all.

The Jews did the same
