The representative body of England is the Houses of Parliament. There are two houses, the House of Commons and the house of Lords. The House of Commons is made up of elected Members of Parliament from political parties such as the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberals. Each elected MP represents a constituency. The house of commons votes on such laws as the ruling party wishes to introduce.
The House of Lords is, at present, unelected and consists of Lords and Bishops. Their role is to act as a check on the laws passed by the House of Commons and they can reject them and send them back for revising. I don't know how much of this you need, but I hope it helps.
